Powerful viral presentation proves that we live in "exponential times"

‘Did You Know?' was originally created in August 2006 by an American teacher called Karl Fisch. It started its life as a PowerPoint presentation for a staff development day at Arapahoe High School in Centennial, Colorado. The presentation soon went viral on the internet and within months it had been seen by over five million people.

When the creator gave permission for others to modify it under a Creative Commons licence, numerous alternate versions began to crop up. This version - available on YouTube - was created with a specific focus on the UK by Ray Flemming and Microsoft, assisted by Scott McLeod and Jeff Brenman.

The presentation uses sometimes shocking statistics to unveil the seismic changes of demography, technology, learning and information that are transforming our world.
