On Purpose is recruiting for its October 2012 cohort of Associates
On Purpose is a one-year paid programme that helps people to kick-start their career in social enterprise. Like us, they believe that business can address societal challenges. The On Purpose scheme aims to prepare the next generation of talent who will lead this change. It is a unique experience-based programme that also greatly amplifies people's knowledge of and networks in, the social enterprise space.
On Purpose Associates undertake two six-month paid work placements and are provided intensive 1:1 support along with a world-class programme of weekly training sessions. These are delivered by professionals from organisations as diverse as McKinsey, Bain, IDEO, The Big Issue, UnLtd and Bridges Ventures.
On Purpose is now accepting applications for its October 2012 cohort. They are looking for exceptional individuals, with strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills, a track record of achievement (including at least two years of paid work experience) and a strong commitment to using their career for good.
On Purpose was started in 2009 and this will be their fourth cohort of Associates. In the past they have placed Associates at organisations such as the Young Foundation, Big Society Capital, HCT Group, O2, Bridges Ventures, Comic Relief and ToughStuff. Many of the Associates have continued to work for one of their placements and others have taken up exciting roles across the social enterprise space.
Tom Rippin, the founder, left McKinsey & Company to work in the social sector. He has worked in senior positions at Comic Relief and (RED) before starting On Purpose. He is also the Chairman of Spice, a social enterprise that uses time credits for community engagement and the Shaftesbury Partnership, as social business that creates and inspires trailblazing social reform.

Please note that On Purpose is unable to provide assistance with obtaining visas to work in the UK. If you are not an EU citizen, you therefore need to demonstrate that you have a permission to work in the UK for the duration of the programme.
