New Head of Research joins Society

A part of our commitment to delivering truly world-class research for our clients, we are delighted to have welcomed Clare Davies as our new Head of Research. Clare has a decade and a half of experience in the executive search sector. For eight years she worked at Odgers Berndtson, specialising in executive and non-executive appointments in Higher Education, a sector in which Society is particularly active. Most recently she was at the boutique board advisory firm Ridgeway Partners, supporting the appointment of non-executive directors for FTSE, AIM and Private Equity clients in the UK, Asia and the US.

Clare read Sociology and French at Cardiff University in South Wales before joining a local authority to work with vulnerable young people. She subsequently spent a year interning with UNICEF in Kenya, and worked for a women’s rights charity called FEMNET during the pioneering days of the women’s movement in Africa. Upon her return to the UK, Clare completed an MA in the Social Anthropology of Development at SOAS. Her initial foray into the executive search world was as a Researcher specialising in clean and renewable technology.

Simon Lucas, Society’s Managing Director commented:

“In Clare, I know we’ve found someone who both understands the sectors in which we work, and who shares our values and approach to search. We’re excited about the fresh perspective she’ll bring to bear, by virtue of her considerable experience. With Clare leading our Research Team, we feel confident that we will be able to find new ways of improving our client offering, knowledge management and sector insights, and of ensuring that we’re delivering consistently excellent appointments.”
