B&Q wins Third Sector award for 'Best Charity Partnership'
One of Society’s clients, B&Q, has been honoured at the annual Business Charity Awards for its work with the Scouts Association.
The Business Charity Awards are run by Third Sector magazine to recognise the outstanding contribution made by businesses in the UK to good causes. There were 19 award categories this year.
B&Q’s partnership with the Scout Association includes support for the Cub Scout DIY Activity Badge and the Scout DIY Activity Badge. They also help to run a collaborative Waste Collection Scheme.
It is B&Q's aim to engage young people in DIY and home improvement tasks, allowing them to develop the skills and confidence to embark on projects of their own. As the largest home improvement and garden centre retailer in the UK, B&Q want to give DIY skills back to young people, helping them to be self-sustaining and giving them the opportunity to create future homes to be proud of.
