Professor Denise Hawkes was appointed to the role from her position as the Academic Head of Research, Consultancy and Knowledge Transfer for the Centre for Doctoral Education at the UCL Institute of Education. Denise had previously been a Senior Lecturer at the University of Greenwich and hold a PhD from Queen Mary, University of London.
Following the conclusion of the search the Pro Vice-Chancellor and Head of the Faculty of Business, Jon Sibson commented:
“Gareth Duxbury and Neena Patel helped us with the appointment of a Professor/Head of Department for our International Business and Economics Department. They mobilised quickly, grasped the brief well, and were effective in generating good quality applications from some interesting candidates who would not have been identified without a search process. Gareth and Neena were both very professional and pleasant to work with”.
