University of Exeter hire new Head of Department from University of Warwick

The University of Exeter Business School (UEBS) is a triple accredited, top 100 Financial Times ranked European Business School, ranked highly in all UK league tables as well as being among the global elite in world rankings. Society have worked with UEBS for a number of years on a range of appointments and were delighted to continue to develop this relationship by supporting the appointment of a new Head of Department of Management & Professor.

As one of four departments, the Department of Management is home to the Exeter Centre for Leadership. A multidisciplinary group that works closely with corporations, government departments, the armed forces and the not-for-profit sector to inform policy, practice and academic theory. Key areas of focus are Relational Leadership, Leading Change, and Leadership, Health and Well Being.

UEBS were seeking to appoint a new Head of Department (Professor) to support research and teaching activities in the areas of Management broadly, in particular Leadership, Organizational Behaviour, Human Resource Management and Marketing. Candidates were expected to be a leading authority in their academic field with an international reputation evidenced by world-leading outputs in 4/4* journals (According to the 2018 CABS Journal Guide), proven ability to attract competitive research funding, all combined with an active approach to inter-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary research activity.

Society conducted an international search and were delighted that the appointed candidate was Professor Leroy White. He joined UEBS in June 2020 from his position as Professor of Operational Research and Management Science at Warwick Business School at the University of Warwick.
