UCL appoints a new Manager for its Institute of Child Health

Society is delighted to announce the appointment of Wendy Knowles as the Manager of UCL’s Institute of Child Health. Wendy joins the Institute from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, where she was the Senior Administrator in the Faculty of Public Health and Policy.

The UCL Institute of Child Health, together with its clinical partner Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, is Europe’s leading centre for child health research and teaching. In support of Institute Director Professor Rosalind Smyth, Wendy will play a key role in contributing to the Institute’s mission: to improve the health and well-being of children, and the adults they will become, through world-class research, education and public engagement.

Prior to her post at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, Wendy gained experience in a variety of administrative roles at the University of North London. She possesses an MA in Children’s Literature, and outside of work her interests include reading, creative writing, cinema, and swimming.
