Two new Trustees join the Warwick Students’ Union Board
Society has assisted Warwick Students’ Union to appoint two new Trustees with a focus on strategic HR and strategic finance respectively.
Warwick Students’ Union is the voice for over 24,000 students that study at Warwick University and its affiliated campuses around the world. It is a student-led democratic organisation and is guided and governed by its Trustees. Warwick has aspirations to be a world-leading University and it will only succeed in this aspiration if it has a vibrant and motivated student body. The Students’ Union has a critical role to play in providing students with experiences that will help them to reach their potential and ensure that they go on to shape the society around them.
Society’s search focused on two separate profiles: the first was strategic finance directors with experience in the Higher Education sector, across Universities or affiliated organisations, and those within the commercial sector who may have an affinity with Warwick University; the second looked at senior HR leaders who had experience within the not-for-profit or public sectors. Trustees not only needed to have relevant expertise, but also an enthusiasm for, and appreciation of, student voice and student leadership.
Angella Hill-Wilson is a Director at Bridge House Consulting. She has extensive experience working with national and local charities and organisations across financial services, IT, energy, retail and travel. She has recently worked with the Open University and the National Union of Students (NUS), leading organisational development and people engagement programmes.
Andy Ward is a Finance Director with a broad international experience across commercial operations, e-commerce, risk, audit, programme management and delivering transformational change. Andy has worked in senior positions in a number of key global organisations including Christie’s, Alliance Boots, Compass Group, T-Mobile, AT&T and Ernst & Young. Andy is an Economics graduate from the University of Warwick and was actively involved in the Students’ Union during his time there.
