Turn2us hires new Chair of Trustees
Carrie Stokes has joined the Board of Turn2us as Chair of Trustees.
Turn2us is a national charity that helps people in financial hardship gain access to welfare benefits, charitable grants and support services. This critical new appointment comes as Turn2us marks its 125th year of tackling poverty and supporting people facing financial insecurity.
Our brief as search partner was to run a UK-wide intersectional search, aimed at commercially astute individuals with knowledge of the economic justice landscape alongside having strong and inclusive governance credentials.
We supported the Nominations Committee with assessment design, and stewarded the successful appoint of Carrie Stokes as Chair. Carrie is an independent strategic consultant and executive facilitator with over 25 years of experience advising national and international clients on business, governance and communication issues. Passionate about addressing the foundational issues that impact people’s potential to grow and succeed, Carrie has also worked on a pro bono basis throughout her career with different charities that focus on financial exclusion, youth issues, adult literacy and food insecurity.
Carrie commented, “The process of applying for the role of chair at Turn2us was rigorous, thorough, professional and enjoyable! Tanya was incredibly well informed about the organisation and took considerable time to explore my candidacy and support my interview preparation, following up with wise counsel alongside thoughtful and provocative feedback. Having experienced the recruitment and selection process from the candidate’s shoes, I’d have absolutely no hesitation in appointing Society in the future.”
