The University of Westminster hires its new Head of Learning and Development
Dimple Hirani has been confirmed as the new Head of Learning and Development at the University of Westminster.
The University of Westminster boasts a rich history. Since its inception as the Polytechnic Institution in 1838, it has enabled people from every background to realise their true potential. The University today continues to provide grounded, holistic education, with a commitment to removing the barriers to success and contributing to social justice. It is structured into three Colleges - Westminster Business School, the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and the College of Design, Creative and Digital Industries - and located across four campuses: Cavendish, Harrow, Marylebone and Regent Street.
The University’s ‘Being Me, Being Westminster’ people strategy was created with a focus on the personal and professional development of colleagues, by dedicating time and resources on development programmes, creating space for supportive networks, and expanding initiatives that support the wellbeing of its community. Westminster is seeking to invest in its Learning and Development team for its colleagues in these challenging times and as the new Head of Learning and Development, Dimple will grow and develop this newly formed specialist team within the Human Resources Department and manage the associated programmes aimed at improving personal and organisational performance.
Dimple joins Westminster from her role as Organisational and Staff Development Partner at Middlesex University. At Middlesex, Dimple has been involved in the design, development and delivery of a range of development workshops and programmes, including leadership and management programmes, coaching programmes, core skill workshops, and career development programmes. She was previously the Learning and Development Manager at the Royal Institute of British Architects where she was also part of a newly created Learning and Development function and delivered bespoke training and learning solutions in response to organisational needs.
