The University of Roehampton appoints a new Deputy Dean (Life Sciences)
Ranked the number one modern university in London (Times Good University Guide 2022), the University of Roehampton provides an engaging portfolio of courses across numerous disciplines, such as the humanities, social sciences, business, education, as well as health and life sciences.
The School of Life and Health Sciences has a diverse student population, with 65% identifying as female and 60% as global majority. The School has successful partnerships with NHS and private, independent, and third sector organisations across London and beyond.
The Deputy Dean (Life Sciences) will lead on the Science provision within the School, providing strategic and operational leadership and management of this area. The role holder will work closely with the Dean to strategically drive the development of sciences at the University and be externally engaged in developing partnerships and opportunities.
Society conducted a national search across the Higher Education sector, identifying individuals with strategic and operational leadership experience and the ability provide direction in aspects of business and budget planning to promote the sustainability of the School.
Dr Shivadas Sivasubramaniam joins the University of Roehampton from the University of Derby, where he was the Head of Biomedical Forensic Science and focussed on enhancing student engagement, internationalisation, and developing industry links. He brings significant experience in executing strategic plans, budget and faculty management, and a track record of fostering an inclusive work culture.
