The University of Oxford hires a new Senior Development Executive for its Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences Division

Society handled the appointment of Julia Iball as Senior Development Executive for the Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences Division at the University of Oxford.

Oxford is an internationally recognised leader in teaching and research, and this is an exciting time for their development programme. The Oxford Thinking Campaign, the largest of its kind, has earned £2.5bn of its £3bn target. The Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences Division is constantly undertaking ground-breaking research, pioneered by leading academics in their field.

Society conducted a search that spanned the higher education, not for profit, arts and heritage and private sectors. We focused on candidates with a background in the sciences, which meant anything from medical communications to science publishing to science museums, who could bring transferable skills in income generation and relationship management.

Julia Iball began her career in law, which included becoming Partner at Henmans LLP, before deciding to move into the not-for-profit sector. She most recently worked as Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager at Oxfordshire Community Foundation.

Julia commented,

“I am really looking forward to joining the development team at the University of Oxford, and, in particular, to be working in the Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences Division. I feel incredibly privileged that I will be working alongside some of the most eminent academics in their fields in the world, and that I will be part of the effort to support their endeavours and enable who knows what discoveries! Having come from a very different background, I am excited to move into a new environment and to fulfil my ambition of working in the education sector.

I was very well supported by Shehrazade throughout the process. I also found the process with the University incredibly positive, with unlimited help to enable me to make the right decision.”
