Team Rubicon UK appoints new CEO

Society partnered with Team Rubicon UK (TRUK) to recruit its new CEO, Richard Sharp.

TRUK is a start-up charity that recruits, trains and deploys veterans to disaster response operations globally. Based upon a model pioneered in the United States, it launched UK operations in 2015.

Society’s CEO search covered the military, humanitarian and emergency response arenas, honing in on individuals passionate about TRUK’s mission with the needed general management abilities to grow and develop this disaster response organisation.

After service as a Royal Marine Commando, Richard has worked for Deutsche Bank in the City of London and most recently as Director for Operations at Help for Heroes, a role which appealed for its military link. Richard is now looking forward to the exciting challenge of leading TRUK, where he wants to continue serving the military community and to help change the landscape of disaster response globally.
