Tanya Rahman appointed Head of Business Development at IIED
Tanya joins IIED (the International Institute for Environment and Development) from her role at VSO International, where she managed the Complex Funding function, working primarily on large grants and commercial contracts with institutional donors.
With more than 19 years' experience in the international development sector, Tanya brings a variety of expertise from high-level income generation, new business development, and overseas programme management. Throughout her career, she has supported many not-for-profit organisations, including INGOs and local CSOs, to increase their success at securing high level income. She has an excellent track record of developing new partnerships with donors, both institutional and private donors such as large trusts, foundations and corporate partners. She is extremely passionate about the international development and environment sectors, so the role at IIED is a perfect fit.
When asked about her experience of working with Society for this role, Tanya said:
"I wouldn't have seen the advert for this role at IIED if Megan at Society hadn't contacted me. I wasn't actively looking to leave VSO, but when I heard about this role, I couldn't believe it had come up as it seemed to be my dream job! IIED is such a well-respected organisation and a leader in its field, I was delighted that a role that fit my experience and passion so perfectly had come along. Both Megan and Tanya at Society have been excellent throughout the entire recruitment process and afterwards - professional, transparent and helpful, being very responsive if I had any questions or required any information. Between Tanya and Megan, I always felt fully briefed and felt the process to be organised and efficient. I am very grateful for their support and help throughout."
