Stonewall welcome a new Chair and two trustees to their Board
Stonewall, the British charity that has been championing LGBTQ+ rights in the UK and around the world for over two decades, is welcoming three new members to its Board of Trustees.
Having supported CEO Nancy Kelley’s appointment in 2019, we were delighted to again partner with Stonewall on this important Board campaign. Our search crossed sectors, lived experience, and areas of domain expertise, in line with Stonewall’s recent skills and diversity audit. We sought out individuals who consider themselves members of the LGBTQ+ community, or allies, and who share a passion for Stonewall’s mission.
Iain Anderson (pictured right) is the founder and chairman of Cicero/AMO, a communications agency in the UK. He has been selected as Stonewall’s new Board Chair. Iain commented:
“It is a huge honour to become chair at Stonewall - a charity that has inspired me and provided a source of strength and practical support to millions of LGBT+ people. I am looking forward to helping Stonewall continue to develop the policies and services LGBT+ people need across society and to fostering a positive climate where everyone can come together to create the inclusive, fulfilling society we all want to see.”
Tabz O’Brien (pictured middle) is a strategist at the Greater Manchester Combined Authority who brings experience from the public and not-for-profit sectors, and Board experience as a trustee and chair for Manchester Action on Street Health. Tabz expressed the following regarding her appointment and working with Society:
"I am so excited to be joining the Stonewall Board. Stonewall campaigns have had a huge impact on my life, and I feel really privileged to be joining at such a critical time for LGBT+ rights in the UK, and globally. It was great to have Jomar from Society on hand to support me through the different stages of the recruitment process. The communication was always friendly and easy - despite the time difference - and it always made me feel at ease."
Sadiq Gillani (pictured left) is a senior advisor at Attestor Capital who brings senior management and commercial experience from the travel and hospitality industry. Sadiq said of his appointment:
“It is an honour to support Stonewall at this time, an organisation with a long track record of improving the lives of the LGBTQ+ community through raising awareness and driving critical policy changes. I am thankful to Society for managing a seamless process!"
