Stonewall appoints a new Director of Fundraising and Business Development

Sofia Haque has been appointed as Stonewall’s new Director of Fundraising and Business Development.

Stonewall is a national LGBTQ+ organisation located in the United Kingdom that for decades has advocated for the rights of the community. Stonewall partnered with Society in the search for a Director of Fundraising and Business Development to lead the department and continue helping Stonewall fulfil its role in society. The organisation emphasised the importance of having a diverse candidate pool when it came to race/ethnicity, gender, and sexual orientation.

Society looked thoroughly throughout the United Kingdom for candidates with the experience needed to be successful in the role:

• 74% of individuals we reached out to identified as women;

• 51% of individuals we reached out to were BAME;

• 50% of the resulting candidates identified as men, 25% identified as women and 25% identified as non-binary;

• 100% of the candidates presented were members of the LGBTQ+ community.
