Society works with the University of Surrey Business School on a series of academic appointments
Society was delighted to have assisted the University of Surrey with a recent recruitment drive for early career researchers within their Business School. Our involvement focussed on a cross-section of appointments at Lecturer, Senior Lecturer and Reader levels, across a multitude of disciplines. A key driver for these appointments was the University’s strategy to invest heavily in recruiting staff whose work is innovative and consequential for international research agendas.
The work we have done with Surrey has been an example of how Society’s ‘Research Days’ process can be utilised for the recruitment of a large number of roles in parallel. Over recent months we have seen an upsurge in universities wanting to recruit at more junior academic levels, as the emphasis shifts increasingly away from the Research Excellence Framework (REF) in 2014, and towards identifying the next generation of research leaders.
The ‘Research Days’ methodology works so effectively because it allows clients to access the benefits of a pro-active headhunt without incurring the costs of a full executive search.
