Social enterprise ToughStuff appoints Roger Hattam as its General Manager

The former Group Operations Director for Bradford & Bingley has joined ToughStuff after a search by Society. Tough Stuff's aim is to provide solar energy solutions to 1.46bn of the world's poorest people who have no access to any form of on-grid electricity.

Roger joins ToughStuff at a crucial point in the development of the business as it seeks rapid expansion.

As ToughStuff's General Manager, Roger will ensure the effective operation of the company in addition to developing business opportunities and ToughStuff's international expansion plans.

Roger, who is from Yorkshire, joined Bradford & Bingley in 1991 and held senior positions in Strategy, Retail Sales, Marketing and Product Development functions before becoming the Group Operations Director. He gained his MBA in 1999. Roger has previously lived and worked in Africa, where he taught business skills and entrepreneurship.
