Pancreatic Cancer UK makes two key Senior Leadership Team appointments

Pancreatic Cancer UK has made two new senior leadership appointments: Sherie Holding as Director of People and Culture and Joan Prendergast as Director of Finance, Planning and Resources.

Pancreatic Cancer UK provides expert advice and support directly to those affected by the disease, while also supporting the pancreatic cancer community with a strong, constructive voice. Ambitious about improving outcomes and support around one of the toughest cancers and rapidly growing, Pancreatic Cancer decided to purposely build its leadership capacity by restructuring a Director of Finance and Corporate Services role into two separate positions.

Society worked with Pancreatic Cancer UK to define the new roles and to then identify high potential, creative and driven finance and people experts ambitious about building the planning/performance capacity and people and culture practices for the charity.

Sherie joins in October 2021 from St John Ambulance, where she worked as an HR Business Partner, most recently across Community Operations. Prior to that Sherie held people leadership roles in the private sector for companies such as Western Union.

Joan joins in November 2021 from Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity, where she worked as Deputy Director of Finance and Planning. She combines extensive charity finance experience having previously worked for Sparks – The Children’s Medical Research Charity and HCPT – The Pilgrimage Trust.

Sherie said of her appointment: “I am delighted and excited to be starting in my new role with Pancreatic Cancer UK. I have been made to feel very welcome, and I look forward to being able to bring my skill, experience and personality to support their fantastic and ambitious aims and vision. I felt that the recruitment and selection process for this role was incredibly professional and informative whilst maintaining warmth and enabling me to feel like an individual and not just another candidate throughout the process.”
