Nuffield Foundation appoints new Programme Head
Society is thrilled to announce Imogen Parker’s appointment with the Nuffield Foundation as Programme Head, Public Administration and Law.
Imogen joins from Citizens Advice, where she is currently interim Head of Citizens and Democracy policy research, leading the charity’s work on citizens' interactions with the state, courts, and public services. Her programmes include democracy beyond the ballot box, which tackles questions of disenfranchisement and civic life, responsive public service reform, and access to justice in a modern world.
Prior to Citizens Advice, Imogen was a Research Fellow at the Institute for Public Policy Research, where she was instrumental in the creation of 5Rights, a the civil society movement campaigning for children’s rights in the digital world. She also managed public services research at FreshMinds. Imogen is a graduate of the University of Oxford and the London Consortium, and studied at the Institute of Education and the Guildhall.
Imogen commented:
“I am delighted to be taking up this role at the Nuffield Foundation. Wide-reaching reforms, devolution and Brexit, digital evolution and social insecurity, together make this a critical juncture to shape ambitious policy and practice in justice. I am excited to support Nuffield’s aim to improve social well-being through research and innovation, and look forward to working with colleagues, experts from the academic community, policymakers and practitioners to work on this vital agenda.
My experience engaging with Society has been excellent. They have been clear about what the role needed and keen to find a good fit for both parties, beyond just meeting the terms of a job description. I’ve found them proactive in discussions, quick to follow up any queries, and supportive throughout. I would be happy to work with them again.”
