New Deputy Director joins UEA's Sainsbury Centre
Ghislaine Wood has been appointed as Deputy Director of the Sainsbury Centre at the University of East Anglia.
Home to over 1200 works of fine and decorative art, the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts is a museum and gallery located on the campus of the University of East Anglia. The Deputy Director will oversee smooth implementation of the Centre’s strategic and operational plans. She will lead the management team in carrying out the artistic, scholarly and commercial ambitions of the Centre.
Society conducted a search across candidates in senior level roles in a variety of independent museums and galleries, as well as university arts and heritage centres.
Specialising in twentieth century art and design, Ghislaine Wood was formerly a curator at the Victoria and Albert museum. She is the author of ‘The Surreal Body’ and ‘Surreal Things’, which examine the impact of the Surrealist art movement.
