NEOMA Business School hires Leila Murat to the exciting new role of MBA Programmes Business Unit Director
Leila Murat, from INSEAD, has joined NEOMA Business School in the newly created MBA Programmes Business Unit Director role to lead the commercial development of the MBA portfolio.
Following the merger of two of France’s premier Business Schools - Rouen Business School and Reims Management School - NEOMA was officially established in 2013 and has quickly set about making its mark in the Business School sector both in France and internationally. Holding the ‘triple crown’ of accreditation (AACSB, AMBA, EQUIS), NEOMA occupies campuses in Rouen and Reims, as well as a third campus in Paris for the provision of executive education, MBAs and specialist part-time Masters degrees.
The School currently offers both a full-time MBA and an EMBA. In the first iteration of this role, Leila will be responsible for developing and implementing innovative marketing and recruitment strategies across both programmes, as well as working closely with the Academic Director to spearhead the development of further MBA programmes.
Leadership structures vary widely within the Business School sector, with some separating the commercial and academic management of programmes, while others don’t distinguish the two. This therefore informed much of our search as we focused on finding individuals with an understanding of the operational side of MBA management. During this search we targeted individuals working across marketing, recruitment, admissions and business development functions within the MBA market. Our search encompassed top Business Schools globally, however, the postholder needed to be able to operate professionally in both French and English, so much of our search focused on France, Europe and Francophone areas more widely, such as Canada.
Prior to joining NEOMA, Leila was Assistant Director of EMBA Admissions at INSEAD. Leila joined INSEAD in 2000, holding a number of positions within Admissions for both the EMBA and MBA. She also held responsibility for MBA Marketing and growing INSEAD brand awareness across the Middle East, Africa and Turkey. In her last position at the School she held responsibility for the centralised Admissions function for the four Global EMBA programmes offered (across Europe, Asia, Middle East and the Tsinghua-Insead EMBA).
