Marmalade Trust appoints a new Chief Operating Officer
Marmalade Trust, a loneliness charity based in Bristol, have appointed Tara Fisher as their new Chief Operating Officer.
We were delighted to partner with Marmalade Trust, a loneliness charity based in Bristol, in appointing Tara Fisher as their new Chief Operating Officer.
A leading loneliness charity for all ages and one of only a handful of charities in the world dedicated to raising awareness of loneliness. Marmalade Trust is a small charity with a big mission. Since launching, they have directly helped thousands of people and have reached millions more. Marmalade Trust engaged us to support them in expanding their leadership team with the appointment of a Chief Operating Officer, to work closely with their Founder, Amy Perrin, and the Board to scale their impact and bring their mission to even more people.
Society was tasked with finding a dynamic and experienced leader with a background in charity governance, experience leading operations and finance (whether at a departmental level or an organisational one), strategic growth experience, and a track record in effective leadership. Marmalade Trust were keen to see a range of profiles, including some from individuals currently operating at the executive level, as well as some earlier on in their careers and ready to take the step up. A background in corporate roles, or larger charities, was highly desirable due to the need to help instil some more structure and process at Marmalade Trust. And, of course, an interest in and affinity with the cause was essential.
Tara Fisher joins from her position as Chief Operating Officer at SAMEE Charity in Dorset, a charity supporting young disabled people into employment. She brings over 20 years’ experience in operations management across the charity and government sectors
When asked for comment, Tara shared “I am absolutely delighted to be joining Marmalade Trust as their Chief Operating Officer. This incredible organisation’s commitment to tackling loneliness aligns deeply with my values and passion for making a positive impact. From the very start of the recruitment process facilitated by Society Search it was clear that Marmalade Trust are a deeply values driven organisation which definitely excites me. Society Search provided fantastic support throughout the recruitment process, along with everyone I met at Marmalade Trust. I look forward to working with the team to build on their success and create meaningful change for those who need it most.”
We wish Tara all the very best in her new role!
