London's Lansdowne Club appoints new Finance Director
Gary Honeyman will be joining the Lansdowne bringing with him a wealth of experience in ‘clubland’ having most recently spent 12 years at the Royal Thames Yacht Club Limited leading their finance department.
Designed and built in 1763 by Robert Adam, Lansdowne House became a social club in 1935. The Lansdowne Club has admitted men and women with equal social status since its doors opened. Today it is considered one of the most exclusive and traditional private Members' clubs in London. Standing discreetly at the south-west corner of London's Berkeley Square, The Lansdowne Club is ideally located in Mayfair, at the heart of London's West End. Buckingham Palace; Piccadilly Circus; art galleries, including the Royal Academy of Arts and The National Gallery; and theatreland are all a short walk or taxi ride away from the Club.
The Club came to Society seeking to appoint a new Finance Director to aid the recently appointed CEO to manage and direct daily accounting activities of the club.
Gary brings a wealth of relevant experience to this role. As a CIMA qualified accountant paired with extensive experience in the food service and private members club sector makes him steadfast choice for this role to help the CEO take the club through to the next chapter of its history.
"The Lansdowne Club has a rich history as one of London’s premier Members Clubs so I am honoured to be joining them as the Finance Director. I am excited to be joining David and his team and am looking forward to supporting them in not only continuing to provide the service that the Members deserve, but also assisting in the future development of the Club as we try to rebound from one of the most challenging times.
I’d also like to thank James and his team at Society for their support throughout this process, from their initial contact, through to the interview and final decision. Their support and regular updates were really appreciated and were the greatest proof of how professional they are."
