Liberty Science Center in Jersey City appoints a new Chief Financial Officer
Tamour Kousha has joined Liberty Science Center in Jersey City as their new Chief Financial Officer.
Liberty Science Center is an interactive science museum and learning center located in Liberty State Park in Jersey City, New Jersey. The Center opened in 1993 and is now one of the leading science museums in the United States. To commemorate their 25th anniversary in 2018 they opened the largest, and most technologically advanced, planetarium in the Western Hemisphere. Liberty Science Center has also announced an exciting real estate development project, called Sci-Tech Scity, which will include a K-12 STEM school, co-working space with R&D labs and residential student housing.
We prioritised our search to the local tri-state area (New Jersey, New York and Connecticut) to find exceptional senior financial leaders coming from the not-for-profit, corporate and real estate sectors.
Tamour previously spent eight years at the New Jersey Community Development Corporation (NJCDC), a community development and social service agency supporting over 3,000 children and families each day. He quickly rose through the ranks of the finance department, from Controller to CFO, a position he held for over four years. Tamour demonstrated all of the qualities Liberty Science Center were looking for, including a passion for science and education, a strong finance track record, and an effective leadership style.
