Leonard Cheshire hires new Internal Communications Manager

Becki Frost has been appointed as Internal Communications Manager at Leonard Cheshire.

Leonard Cheshire exists to improve the life choices of people with disabilities, supporting individuals to live, learn and work as independently as they choose, whatever their ability. Its 2017-22 strategy, ‘Supporting Journeys towards Independence’, led to a reformation of its services and a shift towards an expansion of services in communities. A new internal communications team was created, off the back of a restructure, with the aim of effectively engaging with its large and geographically dispersed workforce and volunteer community. There was thus a need for an Internal Communications Manager to lead this team and implement an internal communications strategy.

Society conducted a broad, national search across the not-for-profit and private sectors, particularly focusing on large charities and businesses with geographically dispersed staff. We targeted candidates with internal communications expertise, particularly those with experience building new internal communications infrastructure through periods of organisational growth and change, as well as those with people management experience.

Becki Frost comes from a long career working in communications, particularly during periods of change management in large, complex organisations. Her previous role was Communications Team Manager for Pearson UK and prior to that she worked at Victim Support and the Royal Mail Group.

Becki commented,

'I am excited to be joining Leonard Cheshire, and am looking forward to inspiring and developing the Internal Comms Team, whilst also working with colleagues across the organisation to develop the internal communications strategy and create a framework to enhance internal engagement.'
