Leonard Cheshire hires Head of International HR

Leonard Cheshire has appointed Alison Bishop as its new Head of International HR.

Leonard Cheshire exists to improve life choices of people with disability. It supports individuals to live, learn and work as independently as they choose, whatever their ability. Led by people with experience of disability, it is a registered charity at the heart of local life — opening doors to opportunity, choice and support in communities around the globe. The Head of International HR will lead the strategic planning and tactical delivery of the International People strategy within the International directorate.

Society conducted a national search across the not-for-profit sector, particularly charities with an established international arm. We identified candidates with a demonstrable track record in managing international HR across complex organisational structures.

Alison Bishop has most recently served as Head of International People and Learning at the British Red Cross. Prior to that she worked at Friends of the Earth, Oxfam and Comic Relief.
