Kingston University appoints two new Heads of School

Following an extensive search, Society has assisted Kingston University on the appointments of Professor Peter Buse as Head of the School of Performance and Screen Studies, and of Professor Tina Chanter as Head of the School of Humanities. 

Professor Buse is currently Director of English at the University of Salford. He has lectured on various programmes concentrating on film, drama and literature. His research concentrates on areas such as critical and cultural theory, British drama, and popular visual culture. Peter studied for his first degree at the University of Alberta in Canada, where he spent an exchange year at the University of Leeds. He then went on to do a Masters and a PhD at the Centre for Critical and Cultural Theory at the University of Wales, Cardiff.

Professor Chanter is currently a Professor of Philosophy at DePaul University in Chicago. She specialises in feminist theory, and contemporary French/continental philosophy. Tina holds a first class undergraduate degree in Philosophy from the University of Essex, an MA in Librarianship from the University of Sheffield, and a PhD in Philosophy from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Stony Brook.
