King’s College London hires new Faculty Operating Officer for Arts and Humanities
Joy Whyte is due to join King’s College London as their new Faculty Operating for Arts and Humanities.
King’s College London is one of the top 25 universities in the world (QS World Universities Rankings 2016-17), providing world-class teaching and cutting-edge research. Ranked 6th by the 2014 REF with 84% of research deemed ‘world-leading’ or ‘internationally excellent, King’s is home to over 29,600 students from some 150 countries and over 8,000 employees.
The Faculty Operating Officer will work closely with the Executive Dean in developing the Arts and Humanities strategy, managing all professional and support services teams and embedded staff within the Faculty, overseeing governance, and representing the academic mission of the Faculty on a day-to-day basis.
Society conducted a national search on behalf of King’s College London, interacting with individuals leading professional services or administration across the Higher Education sector in the UK. We were particularly keen to engage with those who possessed experience of successful line management, strong commercial acumen, the ability to implement corporate aims and objectives, and the skills required to manage multiple stakeholders.
Joy joins King’s College London from the London School of Economics, where she has held a number of posts since 2002. With a background in law, Joy initially joined LSE as Centre Manager for the Centre for the Study of Human Rights and most recently held the post of Interim Head of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.
