Helping Children Around the World to Realize Their Full Potential, Christel House Appoints new Major Gifts Officer
Katherine Hayward has been appointed as Major Gifts Officer with Christel House International.
Christel House transforms the lives of children from deeply distressed communities. Founded in 1998 by entrepreneur Christel DeHaan, the organization currently serves nearly 6,000 students and recent graduates worldwide through no-fee private schools in India, Jamaica, Mexico and South Africa, as well as three public charter schools in Indianapolis, IN.
Society looked for experienced Development leaders and Major Gifts Officers within non-profit organizations nationally - experts in identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding relationships with donor prospects that believe in and support Christel House’s mission.
Katherine Hayward comes from the American Red Cross where she was a Regional Philanthropy Officer supporting a select portfolio of individual donors, while also leading the Regional Tiffany Circle, the largest women’s giving circle in the United States. Exceeding annual fundraising goals and leading large-scale campaigns across the US, Katherine was ready to take on the challenge of assisting a global organization in driving significant change and advancement.
Katherine had this to say:
“I am honored to be joining Christel House International at this pivotal time in their history, poised for significant growth, and under new leadership passionately dedicated to our founder’s vision of giving kids who need the most help the best chance. The team is spurred by complete commitment to educating children and empowering them to rise out of poverty, and my role offers me the professional challenge and personal satisfaction that I have always dreamed of.”
“Thanks to Jordan and Nicole for presenting me with this extraordinary opportunity and for walking me through the rigorous interview process with kindness and professionalism. They ensured my questions and concerns were addressed in a timely manner, and thanks to them I was able to focus on what was most important – putting my best self forward in pursuit of a transformative career.”
