Global health foundation recruits to critical international governance position
The Wellcome Trust has appointed Simon Kay as its Head of International Governance and Operations.
The Wellcome Trust is a global charity dedicated to achieving extraordinary improvements in human and animal health. The Head of International Operations and Governance will work closely with the Executive Team and overseas programmes to significantly enhance operational efficiency, strengthen governance structures and ensure scientific output is matched by exceptional operational support.
Society’s headhunt concentrated on identifying experienced professionals with a track record of success in managing overseas operations. First class business planning and financial management skills were a must, along with high levels of strategic and political acumen.
Simon joins from the British Council, where he spent over 20 years in senior leadership roles spanning Singapore, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Russia, Sudan and Israel.
