EDT hires new Scotland Director

Society is thrilled to announce the appointment of Helen Anderson as Scotland Director for EDT.

EDT is the largest provider of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) enrichment activities for UK youth. It runs a range of work related learning schemes for 9-21 year-olds built around industry-led projects, industrial placements and specialised courses aimed at inspiring the next generation of UK engineers and scientists.

EDT Scotland is also piloting exciting new primary school initiatives to help close the attainment gap and some industry specific work which is in response to community and industry needs.

Society’s search involved discussions leading partnership professionals across the Scottish voluntary sector, and Helen emerged as the front runner in a highly competitive field.

A versatile partnerships professional with significant experience in the not-for-profit sector, Helen joins from WaterAid, where she spent six years managing WaterAid's fundraising and engagement strategies across Scotland and Northern Ireland. Prior to this Helen held senior management posts with a range of arts, education and international development organisations. She is passionate about the opportunities for not-for-profits, private sector and institutions to work together to create social impact and find sustainable solutions to local and global challenges. Helen said:
