Dr D'Maris Coffman joins UCL from the University of Cambridge
Society recently assisted UCL’s Bartlett School of Construction and Project Management with its search for a Senior Lecturer in the Economics of the Built Environment, a strategically important post for the School as it looks to consolidate its expansion into new areas of teaching and research. We are thrilled to announce that Dr D’Maris Coffman will be taking up the role for the coming academic year.
D’Maris is a Leverhulme/Newton Trust Early Career Fellow formerly of Newnham College, University of Cambridge, where she directed the Centre for Financial History. She brings a wealth of diverse experience to the role, having trained initially in managerial and financial economics at the Wharton School before undertaking her MA and PhD in History at the University of Pennsylvania.
She will be teaching infrastructure finance, microeconomics, behavioural economics and finance, and economic and financial history to undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as supervising MPhils and PhDs in these and related areas. D’Maris commented:
“My experience with Society changed my view of the use of headhunters in academic searches. James and Conor were professional, knowledgeable, and helpful in every stage of the process. This was a complex search in that I gather it drew candidates from a number of different academic disciplines and sub-fields, yet Society seemed to negotiate that flawlessly. Far better, I suspect, than most academic search committees would manage on their own. I will heartily recommend them to anyone who needs to run a senior academic or executive search.”
