Cranfield University make exciting new academic hires to Cranfield Defence and Security
Cranfield is an exclusively postgraduate university that is a global leader for education and transformational research in technology and management. Based at the UK Defence Academy at Shrivenham in Oxfordshire, Cranfield Defence and Security is the academic provider to the UK Ministry of Defence for all postgraduate education at the Defence Academy College of Management and Technology and training in engineering, science, acquisition, management and leadership. The Lecturer in Cyber Security and Information Systems and Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer in Networks and Communications will form key parts of the Centre for Cyber Security and Information and the Centre for Electronic Warfare, respectively.
Our search was international in scope, covering higher education institutions and research orientated organisations within the computer science and electronic engineering area, across the globe. The final candidate list included individuals from national and international universities, and large professional service companies.
Dr Paolo Palmieri (pictured on the left) was appointed to the Lecturer in Cyber Security and Information Systems position from Bournemouth University, where he was previously a Lecturer in Computing. Prior to joining Bournemouth he was a post-doctoral researcher at Delft University of Technology in their Parallel and Distributed Systems Group.
Dr Taufiq Asyhari (pictured on the right) was appointed to the Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Networks and Communications position from the University of Bradford, where he was previously a Lecturer in Computing. Taufiq has held positions at the National Chiao Tung University in Taiwan, and at Bell Labs Alcatel-Lucent in Germany.
