Clive Grinyer joins the Royal College of Art
Clive Grinyer has been appointed to lead the RCA’s world leading Service Design Programme.
The Royal College of Art (RCA) is the only entirely postgraduate institution of university status dedicated to research and knowledge exchange, teaching and practice in art, design, communication and humanities. Located within the Design School, RCA were looking for an individual to leads its Service Design Programme, to build upon its current provision as being the largest and most influential programme of its kind in the world with around 120 MA and PhD students, and deep relationships with international corporations, governments, and extensive public sector engagement.
This was a truly search, with candidates hailing from countries such as, the USA, Australia, South Korea, Switzerland, with a combination of academic and industry backgrounds.
Prior to taking up this post in 2019, Clive had been a Visiting Tutor on the Service Design Programme at RCA since 2017. His vast experience as a design leader at Barclays, Cisco, Samsung and Orange France Telecom and his role as Director of the Design Council places Clive in an extremely strong position to work across the College to assist in creating a School of Design of outstanding international reach, influence and reputation, focused on promoting and supporting interdisciplinary practice, research, and Experimentation.
