Business in the Community hires new Gender Equality Director
Chloe Chambraud has been appointed Gender Equality Director at Business in the Community (BITC), the Prince of Wales’ responsible business network.
Chloe’s role will involve leading key campaigns and research projects on gender equality in the workplace and engaging in high-level consultations with key business leaders and policy-makers to develop resources that will drive change for women and men at work.
Last year, she managed Same But Different, a ground-breaking photography essay which illustrated the concept of intersectionality and encouraged employers to put in place policies that support all women. This year, she will be leading on the Equal Lives project, which aims to support men with their caring responsibilities at home to unleash the potential of women at work.
Briefed to find a candidate with both strategic campaigning and excellent stakeholder management skills, Society delivered a shortlist of candidates from the private, not-for-profit and public sectors.
After a competitive interview process, BITC appointed Chloe, an internal candidate from the gender team. Previously she worked on programmes to prevent violence against women in Fiji and supported the creation of a social enterprise for survivors of violence in Thailand.
Chloe commented:
"I had an excellent experience with Society. They made me feel at ease, encouraged me to be my best self and to build on my strengths. They were very supportive and available throughout the whole recruitment process and I can genuinely say that the valuable advice they gave me has contributed to my success. Their understanding of the charity sector and purpose-driven organisations in general was a real asset."
