Archer Hotel Management and the Renaissance Amsterdam Hotel appoints a new Commercial Director

Mike de Boer has been appointed the new Commercial Director for the Renaissance Amsterdam Hotel and he will be pivotal in steering the property towards a new era of excellence and innovation. With the commencement of a €100m+ phased renovation embracing the charm of Amsterdam's rich cultural history and modern sustainability, the Renaissance is set to enhance its position as a leading hotel in the city. The Commercial Director role will drive this transformation with a sharp focus on repositioning the newly refurbished hotel.

Society targeted Commercial Directors within luxury hospitality, who have proven success of increasing revenue and driving performance across the Sales, Marketing, Revenue, and Group & Events teams, and the skills and experience to transform the business and reposition the newly refurbished 500-room Renaissance Amsterdam Hotel. We targeted people specifically in all the top 4- and 5-star hotels in Amsterdam, widening that to both brand and independent hotels in the Netherlands and around Europe, focusing predominantly on the UK, Luxembourg, Denmark and Belgium. We also looked at the competitive hotel management companies operating in Amsterdam.

In his previous role at DoubleTree by Hilton as Commercial Director, Mike had been driving the planning, execution and activity of the commercial strategy through supporting the Revenue management team, Sales, Catering and Events, Marketing, eCommerce and Public Relations teams. He was instrumental in repositioning the hotel after refurbishment and launching new F&B spaces, most successfully, the iconic rooftop bar.
