Advance has hired a Senior Programme Manager
Advance is an award-winning women-only charity that provides emotional and practical support to women experiencing domestic abuse or who have been in contact with the criminal justice system. They are recognised for innovation as the very first Independent Domestic Abuse Advisor (IDVA) service and organisation to work within Specialist Domestic Abuse Courts.
Society partnered with Advance to find an experienced senior manager to lead the well-respected charity’s pan-London criminal justice services.
For this highly-specialised role, Society conducted a deep search in the public, private, and third sectors to identify suitable candidates, from local authorities and councils, prison services, and national and international charities, with a track record in programme and service management spanning strategy, operational delivery, stakeholder management, and team development.
Frances Bromley impressed with her experience and strategic vision for the role. She joins from Penrose Criminal Justices Services, where she was Cluster Services Manager. She holds a degree in criminology from the University of Lancaster, and first gained insights into Through the Gate and Offender Management services while working with Wormwood Scrubs Prison. She eventually joined Penrose, progressing quickly from a team coordinator to a senior managerial role where she managed a large team and had responsibility for quality assurance, training and recruitment, and collaborated closely with wider sector stakeholders to enhance quality standards.
Frances commented, “I am really looking forward to starting with Advance. They are well known within the sector for doing some amazing work and I'm looking forward to being a part of this, as I take this next step in my career.
Society were very supportive throughout. I felt that they came across as very personable, wanting to help me decide whether or not the role would be right for me, as well as me being the right fit for Advance. I found working with them very helpful to the whole recruitment process.”
