Giggleswick School hires new Development Director

Fiona Ross has been appointed as the new Development Director at Giggleswick School.

Giggleswick School is one of the country’s leading independent schools, with an ethos centred on providing an all-rounded education and building links with the local community. At an exciting period of growth, they were seeking a Development Director to shape their next fundraising strategy and build up a robust development function, working in partnership with their new Head.

Society conducted a broad search across the not-for-profit, schools, higher education and arts and heritage sectors, seeking out senior development professionals with experience setting strategies and leading teams. We focused particularly on (but did not limit our search to) candidates already based in Yorkshire and the north-east, as well as those with ties to the region through their schooling or university. We also considered candidates in the private sector with skills and experience that could be transferable to fundraising, such as those in sales and business development.

Fiona Ross joins Giggleswick School from The Grammar School at Leeds, where she led on fundraising and alumni engagement as Director of Development. Prior to that she worked as Major Gifts Development Manager at the University of Leeds.

We wish Fiona and Giggleswick School every success in the years ahead!
